That there.com population really needs to raise!... ugh!

Posted by on in There
(first a little intro)

there.com had its closure the 9 th march 2010. This was quite unexpected for me, Recently before i had purchased a Neighberhood with a friend, which was our new project to build and air. We won it on auction of there_real_estate 3 days before the announcement.

I remember when i was online that day, Auctually i was one of the first thererians to discover the announcement, I was looking in the forum, When suddenly the link i clicked on one of the threads did not lead me to the thread, but to the announcement of the closure. I was shocked and did say out loud "fuck".

I played there for many years, and had alot of time, money & Friends inside there.com. So the closure was no easy task, i knew it would happen someday, But definitly not already.

As you all know, the days went with rumors and accusations and so forth, as most other addicted therians, I was also constantly talking about it that whole last week, and praying for a miracle to save our hard work and community. But as it was not a buisness that was sustainable, there.com closed its doors as announced.

What is very weird is what was about to happen. SEVERAL times throughout the year after this.

I had many dreams throughout the year after with me logged into there.com after there.com have just re opened. Looking in my inventory, seeing all is there & Seeing my avatar, running around in the terrain and etc. Being very happy. Some of the more recently ones i had (and funny enough they stopped after the announcement of there.com is going to re open) i was like playing around like described above, But checking if whetever i was really awake (which i wasen't, but in the dream i thought "oh yes its really true".

I even had a single time were i woke up thinking it auctually was re opened, But soon after was reminded it wasen't.

In some way, I am freaked out about all this.

1. because i had dreamed so many times about there.com reopening.

2. Because it really eventually became reality.

Right now im simply looking forward to auctually see that "stupid" dream to come true, and sit infront of the computer and see everything unfold again, Like it have in my dreams multiple times. Most dreams never come true. but this one will. its for me very surrealistic.

Just me sharing some thoughts here a late evening. :)

Alot of work and dreams was realized when i one day decided to forget about the cost, and put down several big lots in Million Dollar View marine, to put my imaginations to reality.

I was gonna build THE home, I was not going to jump a fence anywhere. I made 400 drops aviable for myself. At an cost above what a Hood cost / month, I put the money into the Million Dollar View community because i loved it, and it was a great place to showoff my lots & creativity, as it was popular.

I played there.com alot the last year or 2 (started in 2004), I was stuck in my life with sickness that put me out of work and into a waiting position in real life, Having to go through the health care system. Not being out amongs people as used to, I got alot of social contact on daily basis by there.com. Also i put work and effort into building up Million Dollar View community with several other people, Not to include all thw work i put into making THE house. I was aiming for "House of the week".

I have written a suggestion of a buisness model to Makena, i tried to explain to them how to create a Virtual world that runs at a much much lower ISP cost. Also a few suggestion about how to handly the income from participants.

I hope they will respond, Hopefully they will put in a little hint if they are planning on something in the future. Atleast they got our Accounts and stuff on a backup server somewhere "safe" as their FAQ says.

Maybe... Maybe one day we will all return to our original second life... Maybe one day we will be able to enjoy like we used to.
